Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a big fan of
beef meat the cooked dead flesh of a cow. I'm lobbying to have Steak be one of the four food groups. I think PETA stands for People for the Eating of Tasty Animals, and I love the Homer Simpson quote of, "If God didn't want us to eat animals, why did He make them out of meat?" Much to
molly322's horror, if I thought that the wild animal who terrorizes our house would be tasty with a side of creamed spinach and a baked potato (sour cream, of course), and was worth the prepartion time, we wouldn't have to worry about him playing with his dry food all over the house - we'll leave it at that.
But
this is even a bit too much for me. I look at it, and lose my apetite.
Sometimes, too much of a good thing can really be a bad thing.

I can't resist...
... the urge, as a near-vegetarian, to make a book suggestion: The Food Revolution: How Your Diet Can Help Save Your Life and Our World by Dean Ornish (Foreword), John Robbins.Jessica
PS Yes, I know I'm annoying.

Re: I can't resist...
No need to. I'm always in for a food read, especially if it's fiction ;-)Ha ha. Just kidding! If you're recommending it, I'm sure it's worth a read.
And who said you're annoying?

see the light
This is exactly why I'm a practicing pseudo-vegetarian. Though I think I might go for all-you-can-eat sushi tonight.February 28 2006, 01:41:22 UTC 6 years ago
Re: see the light
I thought AYCE sushi was Wednesday? We haven't been forever, we should go soon.I'm not sure the fish in sushi counts as "meat." I know fish isn't a vegetable or mineral, so it must be animal - but when I have a meat craving, I'm not generally thinking of fish. I also have specific "fish" cravings that a good steak wouldn't satisfy.
Now having talked about both steak and sushi, although I just finished a lovely dinner, I'm hungry.
